March 2018 Portfolio Performance Report for US market -6.06% YTD +68.53% Overall

US market had another rather bad month in March. S&P500 posted a drop of 2.69%. The key reason is the fear of trade war ignited by the implementation of steel and aluminum tariff by the Trump administration. For NASDAQ, it is mainly due to the Facebook data protection rout that trigger a sell off among tech stocks that started mid of the month.

This month, my US portfolio under-performed the S&P500, posting a loss of 5.64% while S&P500 posted a loss of 2.69%. The loss is due to a single stock that dropped 30% in a single day. Initially it was holding at a 30% gain but in the end was sold at 8% loss. The portfolio YTD return is now -6.06% while S&P500 is at a loss of 1.22%.

Total return since inception (from June 2016) has dropped to 63.53%.
