Moving Trading Signals Subscription to Facebook Private Group

After much consideration and research, I decided to systematically move my subscription service to a Facebook private group. I will stop accepting subscription via Gmail mailing list and Feedburner. The short explanation is because I find it inefficient and error-prone to run the service via email mailing lists and Feedburner. Read further for the long explanation and the advantages of using Facebook private group.

The time of posting my signals remains the same - after market closes for the day. Also this subscription is still free for the time being.

Why am I done using Gmail mailing list and Feedburner?

With more and more subscribers, I’m spending more and more time managing the mailing lists to make sure everyone is in the proper list and that signals get sent to the correct group. It is even more difficult if I have to do this via my handphone when I am on the move or travelling. And while sending out emails, the delivery is sometimes not immediate and it may end up in subscribers’ spam folder. As for Feedburner, I come to realize sometimes the signals were not delivered at all or they would arrive 1-2 days later. These cause the service to become unreliable for trading signals as loss of time could mean loss of money.

What’s so good about Facebook private group?

Based on my findings, using Facebook private group is more reliable. Followers get notified of new posts (signal) almost immediately after I posted. It is easier to manage since now I can easily use my handphone to handle the administration. Subscribers will select the portfolio they want to follow so I won’t accidentally assign to the wrong group. Also since half of my followers use handphone to check for signals, it is more convenient for them as well..

What will happen if you’re currently following via email or Feedburner?

I will continue sending signals via emails and keep Feedburner running until 31 Dec 2017. I will send you several emails to remind you of the impending closure and to move to my Facebook private group if you want to continue following.

How about InvestingNote SGXCafe Twitter and StockTwits?

Yes, I will still continue posting as usual. However, to reliably get the buy/sell signals, please switch to follow my Facebook group.

Is this move to Facebook private group going to be the last? Will you decide to move somewhere else next time?

The reason for moving is to make the service more reliable and to reduce my administrative work. I should be spending more energy to improve my trading system instead of all the administrative work. So far, I believe that Facebook private group would meet this criteria. I may have overlooked some stuff and in future may decide to migrate again but without some good reasons, I will remain using Facebook.
